Monitor and run hybrid cloud data services
♪ We going hot,♪Hot to the touch, yeah ♪ Hello everyone, this is Steve from NetApp, and with me is Friedemann, the Head of IT of Porsche Motorsport. And we are here at the racetrack in Berlin for today's Formula E Race. And we want to talk about data. Warm welcome, happy to have you here really behind the scenes, that's nothing you can see in the public television, so yeah. Talking about data. So what's your job before, during, and after the race? Our job as IT is literally to operate all that you see here, and many, more of the end users, of course, to deliver them the right services, to deliver them the right data so that they are able to make the right decisions. That's our crucial part. And that needs to be bulletproof and ongoing without any interruption because interruption would cause time loss. And time loss is really bad in racing. So I only see one chair. So who's taking care of all this IT equipment? That's something really special about the Formula E that it's only a limited amount of people we can have onsite at the track to support us for any kind of activities. So the IT is limited to one person, and that person needs to handle all the services, all the operations, all the buildup of the IT stuff at the beginning, all the pack down at the end of the event, and then, yeah, also support. Now you see Thomas is not on his place. That's simply for the reason that maybe one of the engineers have an issue, so he's supporting to fix it. That's the duty of one person. So how is NetApp helping you with all of this? NetApp especially delivered products that makes it very simple to manage it. It's a central management, and so from connection, data caching, the data aging, all that is automated and managed in the central place. And Thomas is just controlling the dashboards, making the right settings, and that's applied to the whole services then. And yeah, by doing so, it's always enabled and ensured that the really critical data is locally cached, but the heart of our data is in the cloud nowadays completely. So this is my first Formula E race today. I'm pretty excited. And fingers crossed for the day's race, I wish you all the best. Thank you. Thank you everyone for watching and listening.
