Monitor and run hybrid cloud data services
[music]Hey everybody, I'm Wes Talbert and I'm here in that Aston Martin Formula 1 simulator where I'm attempting to drive this Formula 1 car around the track as best I possibly can. As you can see, I don't really think I've got a career as an F1 driver. But I tell you what, the Formula 1 car with Aston Martin, it can't even leave the paddock without NetApp and our Flex Pod, which monitors everything that they do on the track. But to help me more with this, I'm going to get Mike here. Mike's going to help me out all this, and we're going to go talk about it just a little bit more. Oh,>> hey. [laughter] Oh, thank you, Mike. That was not graceful at all. Well, I mean that's the challenge. You can see all the information that a driver has to take in just to try and get around that curve. >> Absolutely. >> Absolutely. >> Absolutely. >> But what people really don't think about is all the information that the car itself generates. >> That's right. >> I mean, there are terabytes of data every time they try and make a turn. >> And they do that with Flex Plot. >> Absolutely. Because part of collecting that data is I got to do something with it. and they're [music] trying to make decisions right there race time to be able to improve their position, get around the corner faster, help the driver with the handling and experience of that car. So [music] they've turned to NetApp and Flexbot to be able to have something small, easy, portable, and most importantly reliable that they can move from track to track and have that feed back to their main data center where they have the processing power to really look at all that information and kind of figure out how do we [music] make this car break better, turn quicker, better aerodynamics so that we can move up a couple spots in the race. So it's not just about the feel of the driver and the communication back from the pit, but the actual data analytics that they're collecting through this platform to coach the driver to make sure that they can really perform on the track and get down every [music] last microsecond on that track. That's how it all works. >> Absolutely. It's a total team effort just like Flexbot itself. We have the best data storage in the world, but we need a compute and networking layer to be able to make sure that a customer can actually use an application to get value out of it. That's the teamwork with Cisco that makes FlexPod possible. And that's the teamwork that allows Austin Martin to really drive forward and make impressive improvements in their races. >> That's amazing. [music] I really appreciate you helping me out of the chair, but more importantly helping me tell the audience all about FlexPod and the value that NetApp [music] brings in that Cisco partnership. Awesome, brother. Awesome, brother. Awesome, brother. Good to see you.
