Storage Grid 11.8 introduces the S3 console, a bucket browser built into the storage grid tenant manager interface. The S3 console was present in previous versions as an experimental feature, and 11.8 introduces the finished product. The S3 console makes it easy for tenants to upload, download, copy, move, and delete objects from the storage grid tenant manager. The console also supports managing object versions, object tags, and viewing object metadata. Now, let's log into my storage grid tenant and try out the S3 console. From the storage grid tenant manager, navigate to the sidebar and buckets. Select the bucket we want to access and select S3 console. You'll need to provide S3 access keys either by manually entering or uploading a CSV file. I'm going to upload a file and sign in. Now we can see the contents of our bucket. From the S3 console, we can create new folders and navigate through folders that already exist. For each folder, we can calculate the size and number of objects, and we can use the links at the top to return back to the root directory. From the S3 console, we can upload objects using the upload button or by dragging and dropping from our desktop. Once an object is uploaded, there's several actions we can apply to it. We can move it into another directory. We can rename an object and we can make a copy. We can also delete objects from the S3 console. We can also use the S3 console to access information about objects uploaded to the bucket. For example, I have this demo.ext object. We can see the key, the last modified date, the E tag, the storage class, and the size of the object. We can also view and modify the object's tags. Now, I've gone ahead and enabled versioning on my bucket to demo how the S3 console can manage object versions. You can see that for demo.ext I've created several versions. For each version, you can download, revert, or delete. I'm going to go ahead and delete the oldest version and then revert the object to this version. You can see that my latest version is now the 29 byt version. The storage grid 11.8 S3 console makes it simple to access storage grid buckets directly from the storage grid tenant manager. Note that you should only use the console when performing functions on a small number of objects. The console is not designed for high performance with large number of objects. Also note that you cannot upload folders to the S3 console, only objects. Thank you for watching.
