Monitor and run hybrid cloud data services
(calm music) Hi, I'm Shriranga Mulay. I head the Engineering and Development at NTT, India. NTT Limited India is a leading IT infrastructure and services company. We are a part of NTT Data, and together we had $30 billion in revenue globally. In India, we are the leaders in data center services, and also one of the leading providers of managed IT and security services in India. We are investing about 2 billion USD in the Indian market, towards building hyperscale data center campuses, submarine cables for global connectivity, renewable energy projects and much more. NTT globally is an industry leader in networks, data centers, cloud security, and managed services, and also an innovator in the upcoming areas, like private 5G and IoT. We serve about 65% of the Flow Fortune Global 500, and more than about 75% of the Fortune Global 100 companies. We harness the power of technology and innovation to deliver a secure and connected future that empowers our people, customers, and communities, and helps them in the journey of digital transformation to address their business priorities. NTT is involved in building and supporting new Edge services and solutions in the upcoming areas like Cloud, AI, ML, AIOps, IoT, private 5G sustainability projects, renewable energy projects, et cetera. NetApp is one of our biggest ecosystem partners in many areas, and one of them being cloud storage solutions that we provide to our customers. We have been a customer of NetApp for more than 20 plus years now in India, and we use a lot of NetApp products. Over these years, we have worked with NetApp, and happy to say that our experience, in terms of their technical expertise and commitment to help us, has been outstanding. We have been engaged with NetApp for that support account managers for about three years now. The SAM has always been fully aware of our deployments, our deployment models, and services we roll out, and also knowing our specific requirements. The specific benefit, apart from many others we have seen with this engagement with NetApp, is that we are able to focus more on our business and operations, and other important functions which we need to perform. It's always helpful to have somebody from NetApp to work with us and support us as one team, such that they help us in periodic reviews of the NetApp infrastructure, help in identifying the devices which need renewable, devices getting out end of support, such as defective solutions for upgrade or refresh, and also take lead during the critical issues that we face, and get the right attention and support from the relevant teams within NetApp, for a quicker resolution. I would like to mention about Momina, who's been our SAM right since the inception of this service. And, she has been absolutely fantastic in supporting us all this way. She's been very proactive, and always ensured we get the right support and attention required. Just to highlight our proactive approach, most of the times I have received a message about other problem, or a resolution, or the steps being taken, first from her, than before even I'm receiving these messages from my team. Thank you Momina so much for your fantastic support, and thank you NetApp for your support. Thank you. I mean, I've seen two kind of people, right? One is people who do a good job, but within the limits that, you know, like a rule book, following a rule book. And, there are people who go outside the rule book to support. I mean, both are doing their job, actually speaking, but one is doing it from their heart, one is doing because of a compulsion. I think she falls in the other category, because she's doing it from her heart, and all. Heart, and mind, and brain, everything involved. It's not just because I'm forced to go for work for eight hours, I'm supposed to support a customer, and I try and do it and keep myself politically correct, so that, you know, I'm not found anywhere guilty, or I'm not found wanting, you know. But, this has been the other side of the story, in terms of really doing it, getting involved, you know, from the heart and soul, so that you know the customer gets the right support. And I'm really thankful to you and NetApp both for that, Momina. Thank you so much. And I'm sure, you know, this comes from the genes of the organization, I would say. It's not, I mean, while there are always exceptions, and people who do on their own as well, I would like, I mean I would not like to demean what Momina has done, but my experience with NetApp has been that way, right? I mean, she's still gone beyond what others would've done. So, nothing to take away the credit from her. But, I always believe in one thing, it's always the genes within the organization, you know, which turn you, know, into a different person, whatever job you do, right, would it be interacting with customers, building a new product, or whatever, you know, things you need to do. It always makes a difference. I mean, I've seen that within my organization, and I've also seen it very closely with NetApp, since I've been personally associated with NetApp for the last 20 plus years, and since the time I've joined NetMagic, before it was NTT, till it is NTT. And I've been experiencing that. (calm music) So, I always believe in one thing, right? Father and mother, and our family members, do bring up better kids, but I think end of the day, it is the organization where you start working. That first organization is very, critical and important, because that's where, you know, you get molded into something as to how do you, know, build yourself as a person beyond, you know, the family, on a professional front. So, both these aspects are really important. I mean, obviously you need to have something in your genes as well. I mean, that cannot be ignored. But the first organization you work, that has to be like this, right? And you really get molded as a good person, professionally as well, and not just on a personal note. (calm music)
