hello and welcome back this is the third part of a three-part demo series on Blue XP backup and recovery for VMS for Amazon FSX for nedab on Tab let's quickly look at the agenda in part one we learned how to install blue XP backup and recovery for VMS and in part two we talked about backing up FSX for nedab onab data stores and VMS and in this part I'll be talking aboutthe restoration operation for FSX for Neta on Tab data store VMS as well as vmdks so let's go to the vpar client and go to the inventory then go to the virtual machine that you wish to restore right click on that virtual machine that will display the option called Blue XP backup and recovery for VMS you click on it and say restore so in select backup job you can actually select the backup through which the restoration will be taken place so you can search it for here if you have lots of backups available but for this demonstration purpose I will just go ahead and click on the latest backup that is available so youselect that and say next so for the restore scope you can restore entire virtual machine or particular virtual diss so for now I'll be selecting entire virtual machine and if you want to restart that VM on restoration that can also be done currently we just support restoration to the original location only so let's keep it as it is and say next here you need to provide the destination data store since it's in place so data store remains same you can restore from the primary copy or from the secondary backup copy so let's click on the secondary location from where we will be doing the restoration and say next you review the summary and say finish that's it the operation will be triggered that can be monitored from the recent tasks or you can also go to the blue XP backup and recovery for VMS dashboard and you will start seeing that one restore job is in running mode yeah you can see that the restore job is running you click on the job ID and again it will show all the subtasks that has been taken place as part of this restoration process let's fast forward it and see that the back the restore job is finished now let's go back to the inventory and see that the VM is available now and if you want to restore there is another way to restore this VM all you need to do is you need to go to the data store where this VM resides to the config option and under backups you just click on one of the backup option and you will start seeing all the entities that has been backed up as part of this you click on restore over here which will open the same restore wizard from where you can do the restoration operation and now it's time to learn about the vmdk restore for that let's go to the Windows machine here if you could see that I have added the data wall called e Drive here if you click on this you'll see that there is one folder and I have ADD added couple of files inside that so now I'm going to deliberately delete the folder itself so now the folder has been deleted let's now go back to the vpar client right click on the Windows machinego to the blue XP backup and recovery for VMS and say restore here again select the uh backup copy through which you want to do the restoration now the restore scope will be particular virtual discs so all the diss will be displayed if you know where the file is you can select the one but for now I'll be selecting both vmd case to be restored so next if you want to restore it from the primary or second entry that can also be done I'm just selecting primary you review it and say finish it's as simple as that so the restore job is in progress now we can check it from the dashboard here you see that the restore job is in progress let's just wait for some time this for this to complete and you can see the restore job is completed let's go back to the Windows machine in and see if those files are available let's go to the data Wall E and you can see that the related files areback this concludes part three of this demo series thank you so much for watching all the parts of this demo series and if you have not watched part one and part two please go ahead and do so thank you so much
