[Director] Action. (clap board claps) That's an interesting one. That's hard. That's it? (laughing) (words swish) (upbeat music) You know, at NetApp IT, we don't just use our products: we live them. Today, a few of my team members and I are going to answer some questions on how the NetApp on NetApp program puts our technology to the test. I'm Madhavi Narra. I'm Hem Nerkar. I'm Matt Brown. My name is Ken Lee, and I have a storing role in the NetApp IT team. I lead a double life, because NetApp is both my employer and my vendor. (bright music) NetApp on NetApp is a subset of IT. This is where we, as adopters of our own technology, come together as subject matter experts. Not only are we great product adopters, but we want to make sure that our products work for not only us, but for every customer in the world. We actually use everything we have to stress that product before going out. When I stand in front of a customer, I can share some of the challenges we've faced, how we solved them with our technology, and where the technology may have had shortfalls, how we worked with our own product teams to solve them. (bright music) Pickleball is my passion right now. I recently started fashion modeling. My big moment was being at New York Fashion Week. That's something that even now gives me goosebumps. I have three macaws. (macaws squawk) When I walk in the room abruptly, they do a collective "what?" Because that's usually what I say when I walk in with their yelling. (upbeat music) AI has already supercharged NetApp. We are putting AI in our products. We are putting AI in our day-to-day operations. We have started an initiative called AI for Internal Operations. We are working on various business cases across NetApp. We are asked to see how we can leverage AI in our day-to-day activities and find solutions using AI. (bright music) Feeding the right relevant data set is really crucial. It's very important to understand what the use case is and align the AI capabilities to that. There may be 100 capabilities that AI has, but if it's not relevant, it's of no use. Securing data is extremely critical. You should know where your data is and what's the health of the data. (bright music) I would be FlexPod AI Platform. It combines intelligent data management with high-performance infrastructure, and it aligns with the data-driven approach that I have. I would be that software which brings everything together, including across all the hyperscalers. (bright music) We are just like every customer. We are budget-challenged. We are time-challenged. We are resource-challenged. And yet the challenges of the industry continue to grow. We're all in IT together. And the more we can share experiences, the better we all enable our own organizations and empower them for growth and success. (bright music)
There is a group within NetApp whose job is to be a real customer – buy products, call support, and make feature requests. It's called NetApp on NetApp, and the lessons learned help contribute to much better products and ways of doing business.
