Monitor and run hybrid cloud data services
(upbeat music) Hi, and welcome back to AWS Reinvent. I'm Phoebe Goh, and I am joined here at the Spot Booth. Matt Jordan, director of Global Partner Development at Cloudcheckr. I'm so excited, right? I'm excited to get to work with you for this. I know, I know. We've been talking about doing this. So Matt is an expert in all things FinOps and FinOps is one of those buzzwords, right Matt, that's been thrown around a lot. What does it mean? What, does it really mean in this day and age? Oh, so whenever anybody thinks about FinOps, first thing that comes to mind, saving money, right? Yeah. There is so much more to it though, right? So what partners andorganizations have to do is build a whole practice around it. They gotta start thinking about it. So when we're thinking about FinOps today, we're thinking about all of the different teams in the organization. Right. Understanding their responsibility in being financially savvy with their cloud portfolio, right? Okay. So that's the big thing I'm trying to stress this week. Yeah. Is,think about it organizationally and how you're making sure that your dev team, your infrastructure team, and your finance team are all thinking in the same way. Alright. So give me a quick one. If I'm talking to developers, how do I get developers to care about FinOps? So if you make it, the team, the team goal, what you might be able to tell developers is to say, "We've allocated this budget for cloud and cloud tools and cloud utilities. If we can keep under that budget, then you have more budget to do other fun things that might be more exciting to you from a developer perspective." Sure. Right? Because the budget isn't gonna go away, cloud is gonna continue to grow. So this gives the developer maybe a little more incentive to be wise with how they're getting started. Okay. So you're,basically teaching developers a new skill, which is how to be savvy about the way that they're spending this budget. I love that. Yeah. It's perfect, right. And NetApp's been telling that story now. So NetApp's done so many great acquisitions over the last little while and so our FinOps portfolio is able to get that developer who might not know FinOps today. Yeah. Here's the tool. You don't even necessarily need to know how it all works, but what you're gonna do is you're gonna see this report, it's in black and white for you. And so you can know if you're progressing toward your goals. And so our portfolio is able to help provide that. Yeah. And it's an entire portfolio. That's incredible. Thank you so much for joining me today, Matt. It has been great and I can't wait to hear even more about FinOps from you. Sounds good, Phoebe. Thanks for having me. Thank you.
