Monitor and run hybrid cloud data services
A lot of things that help me wake up in the morning is, do I get to work with something exciting? Do I get to work with something cutting edge? And that's what keeps me excited all the time. Agilent is a life sciences and a chemical analysis company. The product that we make and the services we provide helps customers worldwide try to improve the environment and improve the overall quality of life. The challenge is always try to deliver to our customer faster and better, and they depend on our infrastructure to make sure that they can deliver faster. My core responsibility is about managing our data management platform. We have infrastructure around the world. NetApp provides a lot of performance that we need, the stability, the uptime, as well as the security that we need to ensure that our business can continue to run on a day-to-day basis. The workload placement strategy depends on what our business users need. If there is a data set that needs to be used in the public cloud, we can make that data available for them very seamlessly. Or do they need to work with certain resources that are on-prem? We can determine where that actually gets placed. We use the NetApp All-Flash system. We have their storage grid. We use FSXN as well. It support their daily needs. It's very efficient. NetApp FlexCache allows us to work on it real time and eliminate the need to manage how that data gets stored. From a security perspective, the NetApp platform, it identifies what might be a threat for us and we can now be protected against ransomware very effectively. NetApp is a platform as well as a partner. I have confidence in NetApp as we move forward in the future.
