BlueXP is now NetApp Console
Monitor and run hybrid cloud data services
Hi, this is Ankita Dav, technical marketing engineer for Blue XP backup and recovery service. Today I'm here to demonstrate backup and restore of Oracle database hosted on Azure NetApp files. This is a three-part demo where in first part I'll be talking about host registration and Oracle plug-in installation.Let's now move on to host registration to blue XP. For that I assume Azure Net app files is already added as a working environment. Instruction on how to create and add Azure NetApp files working environment are available in the description of this demo. Here you see that working environment is already added. I'll just click on protection pane backup and recovery and to the applications. Tenant onboarding for me is already done that is one-time process. After that you will land to this particular page. Here you see there are two options cloud native and hybrid. Since we are on Azure net app files I'll click on cloud native. As of today we support Oracle and SAP HANA. So let's keep the Oracle option here.you see manage databases. There's a drop-down. Click on add. That will take you to the host installation page. There are two option. One is manual. If the plug-in is already installed or you can push this plug-in using SSH. For this demo, I'll be using SSH. provide the IP address, username and for SSH private key, this is optional if there is a keyless communication between connector and application host. But for now, I'll just use the SSH private key and I'll just validate it. So once that is done, click on next. Here you have to give the pseudo access. All you have to do is create a snap center file under etc/hudos.d and just copy paste the content provided in the blue xp pane. You come back to blue xp say I have configured and click on the next button. You review all the content and say discover applications. You can see here the job has been initiated where host will be discovered first post that application on that host will be discovered. So you see the host is successfully added and also Oracle database has been discovered.Currently if you see it is in unprotected state. I'll be demonstrating backup and restore in subsequent part of this demo series. Please do check out second and third part of this demo to know more about backup and restore of Oracle database. Thanks for watching and do reach out to us at ng backupapps@netapp.com.
