Confidence isn't something you're given. It's something you build. You build it when no one's watching. In the hours, no one counts. In the moments when doubt is louder than reason. Some people think racing is just speed. But speed without control. That's chaos. Confidence is knowing what's coming before it arrives. Reacting before instinct kicks in. Making the impossible inevitable. It's only now, on reflection, that I look back and realize how much I've achieved. But it hasn't just been about that destination, it's been about the journey as well. I think it's fair to say that everybody in the team is obsessed with being the best. There is a very real desire to continue on our trajectory of competitiveness. Data and infrastructure are really the unseen forces underneath the covers that drive success on the track. Without the data, we couldn't run the car. Once upon a time, we were hamstrung by our infrastructure. Now it's a big enabler. Intelligent data infrastructure gives me confidence that we can deliver on track success. There's so many different variables in motorsport, but preparation and belief in your own ability, I think, is where the confidence comes from. And providing that you've put the preparation in the confidence will come easy. We need to be able to make split second decisions in Formula One, and without a team of very talented and driven individuals, I can't do my job properly. The team is probably one of the most important things that you have behind you. Craftsmanship, attention to detail. Almost everything we do is based on that heritage. The only way we can maximise the speed of the car is through data. NetApp gives us that pure expertise in the areas that they know much better than we do.
