Google Cloud NetApp Volumes now offers a preview of ONTAP-mode with the Flex Unified service level. Customers can now run ONTAP API and CLI commands to leverage the ONTAP’s rich data management and protection capabilities without having to wait for the features to be exposed via the Google Cloud control plane.
Customers can use the Google proxy end point or the gcloud CLI to exercise ONTAP features. Customers can leverage their existing automation and knowledge of ONTAP to optimize and protect their workloads. Features like Autonomous Ransomware Protection, SnapLock, SnapVault, File Access Logging and many more are now available in preview and will be soon generally available. This enables use cases that were previously not possible with Google Cloud NetApp Volumes.
