Monitor and run hybrid cloud data services
[music] In this tech clip, we will examine how cloud backup service works. The service is so simple, it takes only three steps to set it up. The process is built into cloud manager and all you have to do is to choose where you want to store your data. Choose the volumes to activate the backup and you're done. Cloud backup executes the backup to cloud and there's no need to configure anything else. Let's go ahead and see how this works. For this demo, we make sure that we have access to cloud manager and a connector and cloud volumes on tap is deployed in the same subnet. For more information on the deployment, please visit cloud.net.com.In this demo, we will be protecting volumes in the cloud volumes on tap using cloud backup service. Choose the appropriate connector from the drop-own menu. After selecting the connector, choose the required working environment. On selecting the working environment or cloud volumes on tab on the right hand side you can see services that are available that could be enabled on cloud volumes on tab. Select backup and restore tab and click on enable. Once you click on enable there are a few settings that you would need to set. Since this connector is set in AWS cloud it'll ask you for the AWS account and region. Now let's go ahead and define the policy. And you can select an already existing backup policy. Alternatively, let's create a new backup policy. You can choose between hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly. And choose the appropriate number of backup that needs to be retained. The default being 30. Click on next. Choose the volume that needs to be backed up. and click on activate backup. There you are all done. Once it's all set, you get the message successfully activated backup for the working environment. Now let's go to the CLI and check for the snap mirror to cloud relationship that has been created. Let's also look at the object store that has been created. Let's see how the working environment would look like after enabling cloud backup service. As you can see, backup and restore is enabled on two volumes. Click on view backup list, which shows you the backup details of all the volumes you had chosen to back up. Clicking on each volume from the backup details will give you the detail of individual backups that has been taken.
