Monitor and run hybrid cloud data services
So when we turm up at the track on a Friday, there's already been a lot of analysis. We look at the weather, we look at the conditions. We then try to set the car optimally for those. And the minute that the car runs, we have a team of people in our track support group who are analysing all the data. The correlation process starts, so we start running offline simulations. We also start running the simulator just so that in a virtual world you can also be testing to react to the limitations that we find at the track. All the work that's done in the factory within seconds, the race team has the capability of going through all that data, and in the same way when we’re in the simulator and we are backing up or we are giving support to the race team, within seconds of the car running at the track, we have the ability to analyse all that data. As the data analysis has grown, both from the performance but also the reliability side of things. We are requiring more and more people at the factory to be part of that process by analysing the data real time in an environment which is calmer than a race weekend. We are limited in time and limited in numbers at the racetrack and race support is really extending the team. Race report is analysing all kind of data from chassis to tyres, aerodynamics, powertrain. It's really essential that we have the data in real time back at home, at the factory. Race support during the Grand Prix weekend is extremely important because a lot of the setup changes, we can't do them quickly enough at the circuit so we try and do them virtually try and get the answers in the simulator and then feed all of that information back to the team. From a strategic side of things, we're always trying to improve our situational awareness and there's a huge amount of historical data, that we're pulling from the cloud to help us build our picture to make better decisions on the race weekend With NetApp, they can store and deliver the data as quick as we need almost immediately. Be this essential because you need toreact invery, few minutes. You know, sometimes during a fp1 for free practice one session, they will ask the people in the simulator if they can offer any solutions to the problems they are having.
Storing and transferring data between the track and the Aston Martin F1®️ Factory is critical for enabling race simulation outcomes and delivering podium results.
