Thin Clones with Split for Google Cloud NetApp Volumes

Google Cloud NetApp Volumes announces support for thin volume clones with the ability to split them into completely independent volumes. Thin clones have been supported with the Flex Unified service level. This feature now adds the ability to split them on demand into independent volumes.

Modern cloud workloads require rapid access to data copies for testing, development, analytics, and training. With the ability to start with thin clones then split them as needed, teams can balance cost efficiency during early stages and data independence for long-term use. Customers can instantly spin up training and test environments using thin clones and only incur additional storage when needed. This simplifies how they support both their developers and customers.
