Google Cloud NetApp Volumes, a fully managed file storage service in Google Cloud that provides high-performance, enterprise-grade file storage, has been updated to support customers leveraging elastic compute to build the next generation of chips with Electronic Design Automation (EDA), create AI agents, or manage petabyte-scale datasets. Large capacity volumes enable customers to provision a single volume starting at 15TiB that can be scaled up to 1PiB dynamically in increments of 1GiB. With this update, large capacity NetApp Volumes in the Premium and Extreme service levels now deliver up to 30GiB/s throughput to meet these application performance demands. This reduces wait times and results in lower overall cloud costs when working with large datasets.
Before today, customers had to select performance or capacity-optimized options for workloads with petabyte-scale datasets or run their workloads by partitioning their data across multiple volumes. Large capacity volumes allow customers to bring petabyte-scale datasets used in EDA workloads, AI applications, and content data repositories to benefit from data management features like snapshots, clones, and cross-region replication now available on a single volume.
Additional details on NetApp Volumes can also be found in the product documentation.
