Google Cloud NetApp Volumes, a fully managed file storage service in Google Cloud that provides high-performance, enterprise-grade storage, announces the availability of Google Cloud NetApp Volumes Flex service level, which provides superior price-performance for a wider range of workloads (like Kubernetes), in all forty Google Cloud regions.
The Flex service level provides new capabilities to complement the existing standard, premium, and extreme service levels. Customers can create and run volumes as small as 1 GiB from a storage pool that can be as small as 1 TiB. The storage pool capacity size can be expanded in 1 TiB increments and provide a throughput of up to 1 GiB/sec. The volumes within a Flex storage pool share the total bandwidth available within a storage pool, making it easier for customers to manage the most demanding and unpredictable workloads without having to over provision resources. As with the Standard, Premium and Extreme service levels, customers get advanced storage management capabilities like incremental snapshots with asynchronous volume replication for data protection, and space efficient clones to quickly and easily launch dev and test workloads. In preview with the flex service, customers can configure synchronous data replication between two zones in the same region, ensuring data availability in the event of a zone failure.
