October 7, 2025
Azure NetApp Files now supports FreeIPA, OpenLDAP, and Red Hat Directory Server, enabling seamless integration with widely used enterprise directory services. This capability allows organizations to leverage their existing LDAP-based identity infrastructure for authentication and access control providing simplified identity management, enhanced security and compliance, and improved scalability. This feature is ideal for enterprises running Linux-based workloads, HPC environments, and hybrid deployments that rely on LDAP for identity services. By supporting FreeIPA, OpenLDAP, and Red Hat Directory Server natively, Azure NetApp Files ensures compatibility with common enterprise standards, accelerating deployment and improving security posture. This feature is available in all Azure NetApp Files supported regions. This feature in currently in preview.
