Azure NetApp Files, a native,1st-party file storage service in Azure Cloud that makes it easy and cost-effective to run file-based applications in the cloud using the same protocols and tools customers rely upon on-premises, has expanded the availability of Azure NetApp Files backup into Azure US Government regions for public sector organizations and regulated industries.
In May, Azure announced the general availability of Azure NetApp Files backup, an native, fully managed integrated backup solution for longer-term recovery retention, archive, and compliance, protecting data from accidental deletion. The expansion of the Azure NetApp Files backup feature into Azure US Gov regions is a significant development, particularly crucial for public sector and regulated industry customers which often have stringent data retention and compliance requirements. Azure NetApp Files backups are created and retained within Azure US Gov regions. This ensures that data remains within the United States, which is a critical requirement for many government and regulated industry customers. This helps in meeting data sovereignty and compliance requirements, ensuring that sensitive data is handled in accordance with local regulations.
