NetApp scored highest in Hybrid Cloud IT Operations & Containers Use Case in the 2023 Gartner® Critical Capabilities for Primary Storage.
We're honored that industry analysts once again recognize our vision and execution: For the fifth consecutive year, NetApp has been recognized as a Leader in the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Primary Storage.
We believe this reaffirms our value to customers as a trusted provider of storage solutions. Our product portfolio, ranging from NetApp® AFF all-flash on-premises storage to NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP® software and first-party cloud storage offerings with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud helped us in this recognition.
NetApp believes that the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Primary Storage signifies an evolution in the storage landscape, as organizations increasingly adopt hybrid multicloud and as-a-service strategies.
Today’s storage purchasing decisions are not made based only on performance, reliability, and simplicity; organizations now need their storage infrastructure to keep their data secure and protected from ransomware attacks, and to help their data centers become more sustainable. Their infrastructure must also be flexible enough to modernize to as-a-service approaches, to harness the power of public and hybrid clouds, and to support cloud-native, containerized applications. NetApp is at the forefront of this evolution, empowering our customers with innovative solutions that align with their future goals—helping them architect forward.
Let’s dive a bit deeper into some of the ways NetApp is leading from the front to help customers build, manage, optimize, and protect their hybrid multicloud environments.
Best-in-class enterprise storage portfolio. This year we introduced our AFF C-Series arrays, which leverage cost-effective quad-level cell (QLC) flash, packing more capacity per flash drive and thereby lowering energy and carbon emissions. We also introduced our all-flash block-only NetApp ASA A-Series arrays. NetApp ONTAP One is the most comprehensive all-inclusive and built-in storage software, and it’s now included on every NetApp AFF (A-Series and C-Series), ASA, and FAS system.
First-party cloud integration: Last month NetApp and Google Cloud jointly introduced Google Cloud NetApp Volumes, a fully managed first party file storage service that allows organizations to migrate, deploy, and manage workloads in Google Cloud with ease.
Unified control plane: BlueXP delivers a unified experience for storage and data services across on-premises and cloud environments. AIOps-powered insights and automation, flexible consumption parameters, and integrated protection provide the operation simplicity and security required for today’s hybrid multicloud world. Automated workflows, intuitive wizards, and the intelligent UI streamline processes, slash complexity, reduce loads, and alleviate risks across the entire data estate. Comprehensive auditing of user and data level activity immediately detects anomalies, delivering prescribed remediation actions to protect customer’s hybrid multicloud world.
Elevating the customer experience with NetApp Advance. To ensure that our enterprise customers receive a best-in-class ownership experience, we introduced NetApp Advance. This portfolio of programs and guarantees offers end-to-end support, and includes the Storage Efficiency Guarantee, Storage Lifecycle Program, Ransomware Recovery Guarantee, and Six Nines Data Availability Guarantee. These initiatives demonstrate our unwavering commitment to customer success and satisfaction.
In addition to its placement in the Magic Quadrant, NetApp ranked #1 in two Critical Capabilities Use Cases for Primary Storage that are essential for hybrid multicloud success:
Powered by NetApp® ONTAP® data management software, NetApp® AFF systems deliver the industry’s highest performance, superior flexibility, and best-in-class data services and cloud integration to help customers accelerate, manage, and protect business-critical data across their hybrid cloud. A wide range of organizations, from enterprise to midsize businesses, rely on NetApp AFF to:
NetApp Astra™ Trident is our container storage interface (CSI), which presents ONTAP volumes as persistent storage for Kubernetes clusters in all three of the cloud providers. We feel, recognition in Gartner acknowledges our expertise, our commitment to innovation, and our focus on helping organizations navigate the complexities of hybrid multicloud environments and maximize the potential of containerization.
Our customers have responded positively to our innovations, and we have witnessed their transformative impact. For example, HGC Global Communications, a provider of telecom, data center, and broadband services, needed to stay on top of demands for increasing capacity, performance, and data protection as the company continued expansion on five continents. According to HGC’s CIO, “With NetApp in place, our teams can spend more time and resources on business development and innovations.”
As we continue to innovate and shape the future of storage, we’re excited to share that more news is on the horizon. Look for announcements from us at the NetApp INSIGHT® 2023 conference in October, where we’ll unveil new solutions and strategies that will further empower our customers. It's not too late to register for this event, so join us at NetApp INSIGHT.
