The 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Storage Platforms has been published — and we’re thrilled to be named a Leader. Our position as a Leader in the inaugural Enterprise Storage Platforms Magic Quadrant is based on our completeness of vision and ability to execute. Add to that the ranking from the 2025 Gartner Critical Capabilities for Enterprise Storage Platforms report, and you have what we believe is a powerful testament of our customer-centric approach and our hybrid multicloud data platform strategy. We’re especially excited because this recognition we feel dovetails with market results that we believe continue to highlight our strong performance and industry-leading customer satisfaction.

The year so far

Here's a recap of 2025 to date:

  • NetApp named a Leader in the 2025 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Storage Platforms (1)
This year Gartner shifted the focus of its Magic Quadrant to enterprise storage platforms, a new category that combines primary storage with both file and object solutions. As the long-time industry leader in unified data storage across hybrid multicloud environments, we’re gratified to see analysts and customers recognizing the power of unified storage for any app and data type, on premises or in the cloud.
  • NetApp named a Customers’ Choice in the Gartner 2025 Peer Insights™ Voice of the Customer (2)
Our obsession with customer needs and satisfaction is legendary, and so being recognized as a 2025 Customers’ Choice is especially meaningful. NetApp gets 5-star ratings from 81% of customers when evaluating overall experience, product capabilities, and service & support relative to the market. We see this as a powerful endorsement from our customers, one that strengthens our determination to further elevate customer success by doubling-down on our innovation agenda.
  • The 2025 Gartner Critical Capabilities for Enterprise Storage Platforms report ranks NetApp first in the Hybrid Cloud Storage Use Case and second in the Hybrid Platform Services Use Case (3)
A companion report to the Gartner Magic Quadrant, Gartner Critical Capabilities reports go deeper into specific product capabilities. Here, we believe NetApp shines where it counts. Hybrid cloud is the IT reality — and challenge — that most organizations face today, and we’ve been investing in hybrid data infrastructure for more than a decade. NetApp’s seamless hybrid multicloud data platform, which includes native first-party services on all three major public cloud platforms, is the ideal infrastructure with which to eliminate complexity, achieve simplicity at scale, and power and protect your apps and data anywhere they live.
  • And finally — NetApp is #1 in Flash for CY25 Q1 (4)
It’s the ultimate market validation — customers trusting us with their critical IT needs. We’re leading the market in flash storage by delivering an intelligent data infrastructure that serves our customers’ key goals across data infrastructure modernization, cloud transformation, AI innovation, and cyber resilience. We’re leading because we’re building for what’s next — from AI to enterprise apps to virtualization and STaaS — with a vision that combines simplicity, power, and endless flexibility. And we're proud and grateful to be able to help our customers succeed.

It's been an extraordinary year, and the best part — NetApp INSIGHT® — is still to come!

What the NetApp vision means for our customers

We believe that our placement in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Storage Platforms validates our vision for intelligent data infrastructure and our ability to execute on that vision. Let’s dig into what that means.

Our goal is to empower customers to innovate with data. This means powering and protecting customer workloads wherever they run, delivering leading cyber resilience built-in, providing the best infrastructure for AI, enabling customers to get their data AI-ready, and equipping them to integrate data estates with unified data management and intelligent data infrastructure across on-prem and cloud. Everywhere they choose to deploy — AI, enterprise apps, general purpose apps, you name it — NetApp customers enjoy seamless data mobility, unrivaled cyber resilience, and all the power and efficiency of modern data infrastructure.

To execute on this vision, we maintain a laser focus on meeting and exceeding the evolving needs of our customers — and we’re investing widely across four key areas to help them:

  1. We have the broadest unified enterprise storage portfolio, helping customers address the needs of all workloads with unmatched flexibility and simplicity at scale.
  2. We are the only vendor with first-party cloud services in the top three hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), enabling customers to build a unified data foundation across on-premises and public cloud.
  3. We are the most secure storage on the planet — with unmatched cyber resilience built-in, including real-time detection for file and block.
  4. We are building the best enterprise-grade data infrastructure for AI and we’re investing to build the most secure and efficient data pipeline for AI.

Coming soon: NetApp INSIGHT

There is so much more to come in 2025. At NetApp INSIGHT® in October, we’ll unveil more breakthrough innovation for our customers across all four of the use case priorities we’ve just discussed. We’ll have a special focus on AI as we unveil powerful new technologies that will help customers radically accelerate and consolidate their AI journeys. NetApp INSIGHT

Where we go from here

NetApp is on a roll. We feel it, our customers feel it, and the market reflects our momentum. More customer-focused, market-disrupting innovation is right around the corner. We’re deeply grateful to all our customers for their trust and enthusiasm — and we’re going right back to work on powering their success.
