We’re excited to announce the evolution of NetApp® Cloud Insights, now known as Data Infrastructure Insights (DII). This name change reflects our commitment to a broader intelligent services vision and comes with enhanced capabilities that offer unparalleled unified infrastructure observability.

Why the name change?

NetApp Data Infrastructure Insights is designed to meet the growing demand for centralized observability for complex data infrastructures across on-premises, hybrid, and multicloud ecosystems. Aligning the name more closely with NetApp's defining mission to create intelligent data infrastructures reinforces our goal of creating value for customers by streamlining management and maximizing ROI. As you scale, our intelligent data infrastructure tools support workload demands and implement security protocols, giving you a single, seamless experience across your ecosystem. You can easily identify bottlenecks, optimize costs by adjusting for latency and down time, and quickly assess and mitigate risks.

Expanded capabilities

Announced at the September 2024 NetApp INSIGHT® conference, Data Infrastructure Insights includes the following additional capabilities and features.

Block workloads component interactions. Managing various component interactions in your IT infrastructure is now easier with SAN Analyzer, an end-to-end typology of block workloads. Gain broad visibility into your data infrastructure, enabling you to track performance metrics, identify bottlenecks before they become blockers, and detect anomalies. Take advantage of focus capabilities to home in on specific workloads or applications for a concentrated view to streamline the troubleshooting process.

Resource optimization for cost savings. Optimize your VMware deployment and get recommendations to rightsize your compute and storage environments for massive licensing savings. Understanding resource utilization and allocation is crucial for strategic planning. Data Infrastructure Insights offers complete visibility into your ecosystems to help you identify optimization opportunities, so that you can plan your future capacity needs with confidence.

Change analysis. Simplify infrastructure changes by monitoring configuration and events and correlating them to alerts. Quicky see cause-and-effect scenarios to understand change impacts and mitigate issues.

Reliable security. In today’s digital environment, securing your data is paramount. DII offers robust protection against ransomware and insider threats when paired with NetApp ONTAP® Autonomous Ransomware Protection, using automated detection and response to safeguard your valuable assets.

Subscription offering. Through NetApp Keystone®, DII observability is now available as a subscription service, provided and managed by NetApp to increase visibility into and control of your intelligent infrastructure ecosystem.
