If you think about the most transformative technological innovations of recent times, they all have a people angle. Many of these innovations have focused on making it simpler and more efficient for people to get the things that they value the most. These “as-a-service” experiences range from “mobility as-a-service"—aka ride-sharing—to meal prep and even personal styling as a service. The common thread across these innovations is that they provide standardization of service, with the same experience wherever you are in the world, controlled through a single SaaS-based interface. You can get these services on demand where and when you need them, with a few clicks, and pay as you consume. Easy!
These models have not only changed our everyday expectations, but they have also influenced the NetApp® portfolio and roadmap. We want to make digital transformation easier on your staff, just as these services have made our daily lives easier. And if your staff has an easier time, they can focus more on innovation for your business.
By now, it’s understood that for many organizations, hybrid multicloud is imperative for digital success. NetApp’s approach to hybrid multicloud eliminates obstacles such as chaos, complexity, and security risks, and with every release, we’re focused on providing more “as-a-service” experiences. We’ve already standardized our storage and data services so that the feature set, software, and experiences are consistent in the cloud and on premises. This standardization breaks down silos that stymie insight, add unnecessary costs, or expose data to security issues.
We’ve integrated disparate hybrid multicloud environments with a single SaaS-delivered global control plane for centralized management so that you get better visibility and control of your data and resources. Our single control plane lets you activate services on demand—with a few clicks—to support data protection, governance and compliance, scale, and portability consistently across your footprint. You get the flexibility to change or reallocate resources dynamically, as your needs change.
With the NetApp portfolio, you can buy storage on premises the same way you buy it in the cloud on demand, and you can manage it all through a digital wallet in the single control plane. On top of this, we’ve integrated artificial intelligence for IT operations (AIOps) to make optimization automatic across your entire hybrid multicloud.
These design choices have already helped our customers get from static to dynamic, from upfront investments to usage-based, from immobile to portable, from locked-in to freedom, and from chaos to control.
With all the features NetApp technology already provides, you’re probably thinking, “So what’s new?” Well, we’re continually enhancing how you buy, deploy, operate, and optimize your hybrid multicloud services so that you get the best unified experience, “as-a-service.”
We’ve enhanced NetApp ONTAP®, our hybrid cloud–enabled data management software, to deliver even stronger data security across your entire data footprint. We launched the first hybrid cloud subscription with NetApp Keystone® storage as a service (STaaS). Keystone provides a single subscription for on-premises and cloud storage services with the ability to reallocate spend between them, so you can more easily transition to the cloud without changing your subscription. We’ve simplified how you protect, move, and store your Kubernetes workloads with NetApp Astra. And now you’ll be able to do even more through NetApp Cloud Manager, our single SaaS-delivered global control plane for centralized hybrid multicloud management. With Cloud Manager, you can automate and optimize even more operational tasks with artificial intelligence, machine learning (AI/ML), and full-stack visibility. Unless you are a chaos engineer, chaos is probably not welcome in your IT environment. We promise we’ll continue advancing your hybrid multicloud by delivering the simplicity and flexibility you expect from a cloud first experience. As the only storage partner deeply integrated into the public clouds as a native service, only NetApp can deliver this simple, unified hybrid multicloud experience to you. And when you have a simplified hybrid cloud experience, your staff can focus on the more important things— like creating new digital services to help your business seize opportunities or helping to improve more facets of everyday life for the rest of us.
