Accelerate your storage to the cloud With a cloud-first mandate, data and cloud storage are critical to your success. If you’re finding data scale to be a stumbling block, you aren’t alone: You need to focus on cloud storage. At NetApp, we can help. We’ve been leading storage and cloud data management for years. Not since the beginning, obviously (when cave CFOs were wondering how to store important cave drawings), but long enough to become leading hybrid and cloud storage specialists.

Data storage has been a challenge since humans started creating data. What do you do with all that data—how do you store, manage, and retrieve it? How do you share it in multiple locations among multiple users? How do you back it up and secure it? Fortunately, we have answers—and those answers increasingly involve cloud-based storage.

Innovation for enterprise customers

If you thought you knew everything there is to know about data storage, or that it isn’t very innovative, it’s time to think again. The pace of change is accelerating, and it’s the cloud that enables this type of stellar transformation. That’s exactly why we’re so excited to unlock the best of cloud for our customers.

According to research organizations such as Forrester and Gartner, 2021 will bring a spike in cloud adoption and expansion in both software as a service (SaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS). We’ll also see unprecedented growth in revenue for cloud providers and a significant increase in business value for everyone. Forrester is predicting that the global public cloud infrastructure market will grow 35% to $120 billion this year—up about $7 billion from its earlier predictions for 2021. According to Gartner, SaaS will grow about 16% to $117.8 billion, and PaaS will grow 26.6% to about $55.5 billion.

Moving core workloads to the cloud—all clouds

2020 turned out to be a year of unparalleled innovation in which we saw, and continue to see, a significant spike in core workload migrations to the cloud. Our customers aren’t simply migrating workloads to the cloud: They’re innovating in the cloud faster than ever before.

As a result of our partnerships with Microsoft, AWS, and Google, we provide a “cloud-agnostic” experience, offering not only the highest performance but also unparalleled portability, so you can work with any cloud provider you choose—including hybrid and multicloud environments. You’re never locked into a single provider as you gain scalability, agility, security, and speed.

NetApp® Cloud Volumes Platform. This autonomous hybrid cloud volume platform is available across all major cloud providers. A single, simplified experience, no matter where your data resides, provides outstanding price/performance options, using advanced, autonomous data efficiencies and out-of-the-box data management capabilities.

NetApp Cloud Manager. This centralized console enables you to gain full visibility and control of your data across all environments. Data portability is simple and cloud-native, and you can set advanced data services such as cloud backup, synchronization, cloud tiering, file caching, and cloud compliance.
  • NetApp Cloud Backup provides simple, integrated, cost-effective backup and restore capabilities to protect and archive your data on NetApp cloud storage.
  • NetApp Cloud Sync provides fast, automated, and secure data synchronization to transfer file and object data between on-premises and cloud datastores.
  • NetApp Cloud Tiering tiers cold on-premises data to the cloud to expand your storage capacity from your current data center footprint to the cloud.
  • NetApp Global File Cache provides real-time global file sharing for your distributed workforce.
  • NetApp Cloud Compliance service provides automated controls for data privacy regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), driven by powerful AI algorithms.
NetApp Cloud Volumes Service. This is our fully managed, cloud-native shared file service for enterprise users who need scalable, high performance; low latency; and exemplary reliability. It’s available as a marketplace offering in AWS and Google Cloud, and as a first-party service called Azure NetApp Files in Microsoft Azure.

NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP®. This user-managed, cloud-based storage option delivers advanced data management for file and block workloads. The NetApp SnapMirror® feature is the key to data mobility, providing you with full disaster recovery, backup and archive, application-level replication, and a synchronous replication option for critical applications.

NetApp: So much more than a storage company

Wherever you are on your journey, we’ll help you achieve your cloud-first mandate. We’ll continue to build out our services everywhere you need us, and scale along with your cloud providers.

As a longtime cloud guy who is still relatively new to the NetApp team, I’m delighted to see these important innovations coming out so quickly.

Today, NetApp isn’t just a storage company: We are, in fact, a cloud-led, data-centric software company. We help customers like you optimize the performance of your data and storage across all environments and secure it wherever it resides—anywhere, any cloud. We give you complete control over where your data is and how it’s protected. We make it simple, efficient, and cost-effective.

By allowing you to deploy your most challenging workloads flexibly and easily, we help you spend less time administering services. This frees you to spend more time fostering innovation in your own business.

You can adjust your performance to meet your evolving needs. We automate thin provisioning, data tiering, deduplication, and other data efficiencies so you pay only for the minimal capacity needed for your data at the optimum performance you need.

Most of our customers are telling us that they can achieve better performance in the cloud than they ever could on premises. This is what we’ll help you achieve.

Boldly go where no one has gone before

At NetApp, we look forward to making your cloud journey faster, better, and simpler. No matter where you are on your innovation path, we can help you unlock the best of cloud. Let’s do this.
