Enterprise data estates stopped being single-environment a long time ago. Your organization likely runs one or more data centers, operates in several public clouds, supports edge sites, perhaps a sovereign region, and increasingly an AI Factory.

The daily work of running a growing, distributed data estate has not kept pace. Fragmented environments are still monitored one at a time, with disparate tools. Policy is written once and then re-implemented everywhere it applies. Cross a boundary and snapshot and replication behavior change, encryption and access controls must be reconfigured, and the governance model starts over. Scaling waits on architectures, procurement cycles, or both. While storage went hybrid and multicloud years ago, managing it is still largely manual and piecemeal.

That worked while demand arrived at human speed. Now managing your distributed infrastructure needs to happen at machine speed. AI workloads provision, train, checkpoint, and scale on their own schedule. AI agents make decisions and act at a pace that can’t be tracked in real time. They generate operational decisions faster than any approval cycle can keep up with. To be AI-ready, your data estate needs to streamline and accelerate.

NetApp has spent years building a consistent experience of data everywhere you run, on-prem to cloud. Today we extend that consistency to how you operate. The NetApp Platform now delivers autonomous operations, natural-language management, unified control across your data estate, and data sovereignty controls in support of regional compliance. Here’s what you can do now:

Take time back

The control plane for the NetApp Platform, NetApp Console reaches every connected cloud, edge site, sovereign region, and AI Factory the estate spans. Console now advances the shift to agent-managed infrastructure with Autonomous Operations: the control plane provisions, observes, governs, and secures the estate inside guardrails you define. Outcomes are set as policy and the platform maintains them, predicting issues, resolving incidents faster, and optimizing capacity and cost continuously. Orchestration is API-first, and human oversight stays in the loop by design.

Console is built on NetApp ONTAP®, which provides unified storage and consistent data management across hybrid multicloud environments, on-premises, at the edge, and natively in Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP, Azure NetApp Files, and Google Cloud NetApp Volumes, with Cloud Volumes ONTAP for teams that want full control of the instance. You get the same operational model, the same protection model, and the same data services in all of them. A volume behaves like a volume, whether it sits in your data center or inside a hyperscaler’s region.

And for customers whose largest and most sensitive fleets have no route out to a vendor cloud, Console also runs in air-gapped environments.

Just describe the outcomes you want

The AI ChatOps interface in NetApp Console makes automation conversational. An administrator asks for capacity, a performance tier, or applicable policies in natural language, and Console resolves that request into intent-based provisioning against ONTAP systems across the fleet. One operational model means a request doesn’t have to be translated for each environment it touches.

Console guardrails make these operations safe. Every action resolves inside the policies and governance boundaries you’ve already defined; a conversational request cannot produce an outcome that policy would have refused. Since Console operates via an open LLM gateway, you bring the model you prefer. The same interface delivers AI-powered reporting, predictive analytics, and automated remediation.

Manage your entire fleet as one

A hybrid multicloud data estate is only manageable end to end if it presents a consistent operational model, which is what ONTAP gives you everywhere it runs. Console Local delivers management, observability, and AI through a second delivery model installed inside your own perimeter. Some organizations can’t route telemetry or control traffic outside their boundary, and until now that meant giving up the fleet-wide view. No longer. That view now runs where the data does.

Run sovereign workloads on the same platform

Customers and governments are changing their expectations of how data is governed and where it lives. Residency alone answers a narrow question; it says nothing about which legal regime can reach your data or where support and telemetry travel.

Keystone® Sovereign provides clearer regional governance and increases trust in sovereignty-sensitive markets. Qualified customers in the European Economic Area can apply data sovereignty controls that help address jurisdiction, data residency, and operational access. With NetApp, sovereign requirements don’t get a separate product. The Platform’s autonomous operations, conversational control, and unified management all work the same way inside a sovereign boundary as they do outside it.

Now run anything, including an AI Factory

From 10s to 100s to 1000s of GPUs, AI Factories concentrate demands on your data estate. They provision in bursts and checkpoint constantly. They need fast access to massive quantities of data. When the data pipeline stalls, the GPUs sit idle. A rack of accelerators waiting on a provisioning ticket is the most expensive queue in your data center. The factory concentrates that pressure, it doesn’t create it. The same data bottlenecks and the same manual steps complicate your virtualization, your databases, and your backup and DR. The Platform’s operating model clears all of them.

Now we can reimagine what your workflows look like. Simple requests for capacity that once sat in a queue are now just a sentence, automatically checked against policy. The fleet you monitored through four different tools now appears in one interface, inside your boundary when the workload demands it. You don’t need to wait for a maintenance window to tune. That runs automatically between checkpoints. And sovereignty controls mean that a regulated training run can start on schedule.

This is the real return. Your team spends less of the week keeping your data estate running and more of it on what runs on top: the next environment, the next workload, the next thing the business asked for six months ago.
