Season 1: The Role of Data & AI in Climate Crisis
Episode 1: Solving the Unsolved with Proven Technology : Tackling Industrial Carbon Emissions with AI

Starting 23rd September, continually on Thursdays’ NetApp Asia Pacific aims to bring together leading thinkers and practitioners of the AI world to discuss and debate how AI can be leveraged to drive transformative changes in the foreseeable future.

In the first season & the launch episode of AI Thursdays with NetApp, we shall discuss this important topic with Sherif Elsayed-Ali, CEO and Co-Founder of Carbon Re, an AI and climate tech start-up developing technology solutions to decarbonize energy intensive industries.

Richard Biggs, AI Leader, Asia Pacific, NetApp will be hosting this freewheeling fireside chat with Sherif Elsayed-Ali covering a wide range of aspects on the role of AI in Climate Crisis. Organizations across nearly every industry are adopting AI to stay competitive, drive growth and to unlock transformative value with new products and services.

With the recent IPCC report bringing the looming Climate Crisis into stark relief, it is critical that organizations also look to AI to help reduce their emissions and to develop new ways to do business that do not impact the planet negatively.

In this session we will be covering the following areas:

  • How proven technologies like AI can be used to reduce emissions in major industrial processes using existing data.
  • How Carbon Re is helping customers in the foundation industries (Cement, Chemical, Glass, Steel etc.) to decarbonize
  • How regulatory pressures will drive technology investments and supercharge Industry 4.0.

The session will be followed by an open Q&A with Richard Biggs, who would be taking questions from the attendees.
