    • The IBM 3584 has eight standalone FC LTO (or LTO2) drives which requires separate connections to the switch.
    • The media changer usually is configured with Drive 0, but it is not necessary to have the media changer on Drive 0.
    • *The LTO's only connect loop so the McData 4500 is the only option for connection (or direct to filer).
    • Note: For LTO2's the drive connection to the switch could be loop OR fabric—it is auto-sensing. The 4500 is the only switch that supports the loop connection.
    NDMP Applications
    • Veritas: NetBackup 5.1, and NDMP module.
    • IBM TSM 5.2.2
General NotesWhen configuring Veritas or Legato, make sure media type is HCART and not DLT. The library is DLT type, but not the media itself.
