NetApp actively employs comprehensive policies, procedures, and systems, including a dedicated team of trade compliance professionals in the U.S., Asia, and Europe, to ensure compliance with applicable export control and economic sanction laws and regulations in the U.S. and other countries.
In 2011, allegations surfaced that NetApp products were sent to Syria in violation of U.S. export laws. NetApp conducted a vigorous review to determine the true facts, met with U.S. government representatives and agreed to cooperate fully with any government inquiry into the matter. On April 7, 2014, NetApp was notified by the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security, that it had completed its review of this matter and determined that NetApp had not violated the U.S. export laws. The Department of Commerce has closed its file on the matter.
