Joel Reich is senior director and general manager of the SAN/iSAN Business Unit at NetApp. He plays an instrumental role in positioning the company as a leader in the IP SAN and iSCSI space through evangelism, product strategy development, and product marketing. He is also responsible for product planning and strategic partnerships.
Before his move to senior director, Reich's responsibilities at NetApp included interaction and education with key market analysts, customers, and the press, establishing him as a thought leader in the storage community. Reich was also accountable for product marketing and management of the NetApp® Fibre Channel and IP SAN product portfolio. He led the NetApp SAN/iSAN product strategy by working with the engineering department in broadening the SAN solutions portfolio and engaging partners to complete the offering.
Before joining NetApp, Reich was vice president of Marketing and Product Operations at HighGround Systems. He also held director positions at EMC CLARiiOn and Conner Peripherals, Inc. He has been integral in defining and introducing "industry firsts," including the world's first 3.5-inch hard disk drive, the first disk array for open systems and Windows®, the first end-to-end Fibre Channel RAID system, and the first unified storage system.
Reich holds a bachelor's degree from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
