NetApp Named a Best Place to Work in Boston
Sunnyvale, Calif. - June 29, 2007 --
Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ:
NTAP) has been honored by the Boston Business Journal as a "Best
Place to Work" in the Boston area for 2007. The NetApp New England
office ranked number six in the mid-size company category, which
included companies with 101 to 500 employees. NetApp employees
based in the Boston region who responded to a survey from the
publication gave the company high marks for team effectiveness,
alignment with goals, trust in co-workers and senior leadership,
and feeling valued.
NetApp was established in the Boston area in
2000 with the acquisition of privately held Orca Systems, Inc.
Since that time, the office has grown from 16 engineers to roughly
150 employees. In addition, the company has expanded its office
space to nearly 60,000 square feet over the past seven years to
accommodate the growth.
"We are honored to be recognized for the first
time this year as a 'Best Place to Work' in the Boston area, and
we're especially thrilled to debut on this list among the top 10
best mid-sized workplaces," said Alan Langerman, senior director of
Software Engineering at Network Appliance. "Our focus, both in the
NetApp New England office and worldwide, has always been on
creating and maintaining a unique work environment. We work hard to
develop programs and benefits that encourage and motivate our
employees, and we believe that in doing so we are driving the
future success of the company."
This is the first "Best Places to Work" honor
the NetApp New England office has received from the Boston Business
Journal. Results are based on employee surveys, benefits and
compensation, and work-life balance offerings. In addition, the
Triangle Business Journal has named NetApp one of the "Best Places
to Work" every year since 2004, and the San Jose/Silicon Valley
Business Journal has cited NetApp as a "Best Place to Work" in the
Bay Area in each of those years as well. And NetApp has made
Fortune magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list every year
since 2002, based on a variety of employee benefits and perks, and
Computerworld listed NetApp as one of the "100 Best Places to Work
in IT" in 2003 and 2005.
