Network Appliance Announces Prestigious Judging Panel for NetApp® Innovation Awards 2006

Sunnyvale, Calif. - November 2, 2006 -- Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP) today announced the members selected for the prestigious judging panel for the third annual NetApp Innovation Awards: Carol Bartz, executive chairman of the board of directors, Autodesk; Pascal Boulard, editor, La Tribune; Carsten Knop, senior business editor, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung; Joe Kovar, senior editor, CRN; Jo Maitland, news director, SearchStorage.com; and Dave Simpson, editor-in-chief, InfoStor.

Each year, the NetApp Innovation Award winners are selected by a third-party panel of judges who are thought leaders and visionaries in the media and technology communities.

The annual awards recognize NetApp customers who have helped their companies, customers, or communities through innovative deployments of NetApp products and solutions. In 2007, award recipients in six categories will be honored for achieving positive business or community results using NetApp, demonstrating creativity and thought leadership in data management best practices, and embodying the NetApp "can do" and "create a model company" spirit. Categories include Enterprise Business Applications, Enterprise Infrastructure, SMB, Individual, Humanitarian, and Innovator of the Year. One winner and two finalists will be selected in each category and will receive special recognition at the annual awards ceremony being held this year at NetApp world headquarters in Sunnyvale, California.
