FLASH MEMORY SUMMIT – SUNNYVALE, Calif. —
August 11, 2016
NetApp today announced that it won the Flash Memory Summit Best of Show for Most Innovative Flash Memory Customer Implementation and swept all six brand leadership categories for all-flash NAS and unified SAN/NAS arrays in the 2016 Brand Leader Survey.
The Flash Memory Summit Best of Show award for The Most Innovative Flash Memory Customer Implementation recognized NetApp® SolidFire® for its innovative implementation of flash memory for Internet Solutions (IS), a converged communications service provider operating in 14 countries across Africa, with international offices worldwide. With NetApp SolidFire, IS was the first service provider to offer performance-based tiering services in Africa, a major differentiator for the company, enabling it to meet increasingly complex customer demands.
In the annual Flash Storage surveys conducted in June 2016, IT Brand Pulse asked IT professionals to vote for leaders in six brand categories: Market, Innovation, Performance, Reliability, Price, and Service & Support. NetApp swept the voting—and brand leader awards—in all six categories for all-flash NAS arrays and for all-flash unified SAN/NAS arrays.
“Flash is fundamentally transforming the economics and experience in the modern data center,” said Henri Richard, executive vice president of Worldwide Field and Customer Operations, NetApp. “NetApp is helping our customers leverage the innovation that only flash can deliver as they evolve to digital businesses. We are honored to be recognized for our flash leadership by our industry peers.”
“Cloud service providers like Internet Solutions are increasingly demanding the ability to deliver IT services that exceed customer expectations and SLAs,” said Jay Kramer, Chairman of the Awards Program and President of Network Storage Advisors Inc. “We are proud to select for a Best of Show Award the NetApp SolidFire platform, with its volume-level quality of service controls, as IS was able to deliver guaranteed performance to thousands of application workloads from a shared infrastructure.”
“NetApp is the perennial brand leader for NAS and unified NAS/SAN arrays,” said Frank Berry, CEO and Senior Analyst, IT Brand Pulse. “IT pro voting indicates SolidFire technology has solidified NetApp’s brand leadership in the all-flash era.”
