Commitment to Customer Success and Company Culture Lands NetApp on List of 2012 Best Places to Work in Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C. - July 25 -
NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) today announced that it has been named one of
the "Best Places to Work" in the greater Washington, D.C., area for
2012 by the Washington Business Journal. The company is
being recognized for its ability to foster an enjoyable and
meaningful work environment for its employees and drive customers'
success. NetApp ranked number seven on the list, and is the only
large information technology company to make the rankings this
year. This is the fourth consecutive year that NetApp has made the
Washington Business Journal's list.
"This is not only a great honor for NetApp,
but it also underscores our commitment to our team members and,
most importantly, our customers," said Mark Weber, president,
NetApp U.S. Public Sector. "We try to create a work environment
that fosters initiative, innovation, integrity, excitement, and
great service to our customers. This ranking underscores our strong
commitment to our employees and customers who support the U.S.
public sector."
Weber cited NetApp's senior tenured
leadership in its U.S. Public Sector organization and its low
employee attrition even as the office expanded by more than 25%.
While driving the company's strong customer commitment, its
employee teams also participate in a variety of community giving
events, including the annual St. Baldrick's fundraising drive for
children's cancer research, which has brought in more than $1.5
million.
"This honor is a testament to the
achievements of the NetApp Vienna team, which has proven to be
essential for business growth and service delivery in the greater
D.C. area," Weber said. "This team has achieved substantial
double-digit growth in SLED and civilian agencies, entered a new
vertical focus in the healthcare industry, and moved into
high-performance computing sales, in addition to significant new
account wins. On top of all of this, we have maintained our deep
commitment to our customers, new and existing, and our excellent
reputation in the industry. These successes would not be possible
without this team's dedication to living our values every day."
Since its inception, NetApp has been
committed to building a model company with a culture that values
creativity, teamwork, productivity, leadership, and innovation.
NetApp's main Public Sector office, in Vienna, Virginia, which
first opened in 1999, focuses on customers in federal, state, and
local government; K-12 and higher education; as well as commercial
entities in the Washington, D.C., area.
