NetApp to Lead Discussions Around Flexible and Efficient IT and the Future of Ethernet Storage at Industry Events in February 2011

NetApp will exhibit at the Healthcare Information and Management
Systems Society Conference and Exhibition (HiMSS) 2011, February
20-24, 2011, in Orlando, FL. HiMSS is the largest technical

Ethernet Technology
Summit
Mike McNamara, senior manager of Product Marketing at NetApp, will
participate in a panel discussion titled "Bringing Storage into the
Ethernet Era" at the Ethernet Technology Summit. McNamara will also
serve as an instructor for a tutorial on Fibre Channel over
Ethernet (FCoE). The Ethernet Technology Summit focuses on the use
of Ethernet throughout the networking space, including the
emergence of 10 Gigabit Ethernet as a key LAN technology on the
desktop and in data centers. The Ethernet Technology Summit takes

Recent Industry News
NetApp recently became an affiliate of the Stanford Experimental
Data Center Laboratory (SEDCL). The SEDCL conducts academic
research to address challenges in scaling data center
architectures, such as explosive data growth, changing legal
requirements, increasing mobile and cloud computing, and massive
interactive Web applications. As an affiliate, NetApp participates
in the annual SEDCL review, as well as the CTO forum. For more

Alan Yoder, member of NetApp's technical
staff in the Office of the CTO, was elected to the board of
directors of the Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) Trade
Association (STA) for 2011. The STA promotes the understanding and
use of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) technology and influences the
evolution of SAS standards to meet future storage industry needs.

Yoder was also reelected to the Storage
Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Green Storage Initiative
(GSI) and Storage Management Initiative (SMI) governing boards. The
GSI helps advance energy efficiency and conservation in all

environmental impact of data storage operations. The SMI helps
develop and standardize interoperable storage management
technologies and aggressively promote them to the storage,
