BALTIMORE - September 16, 2010 - SafeNet, Inc., a global leader in information security, today announced that it has teamed with NetApp, a leader in innovative storage and data management solutions, to offer a new approach to storage security solutions. This collaboration will provide customers with the ability to manage and protect their on-premise, cloud-based and virtualized data storage in a highly secure manner.

According to a Gartner report, concerns about data location, data loss, and data security (privacy) are three of the top five barriers to cloud-computing adoption. While safeguarding data in the cloud can be seen as a challenge, an effective data protection strategy that integrates cloud storage and security can safely maximize business efficiency.

Working with NetApp, the offering will be expanded to include security for storage and data management solutions supporting existing data center storage modes with the flexibility to stretch protection to emerging SaaS, public, private, and hybrid cloud delivery models.
