NetApp Ranked #2 on the "Best Workplaces in Canada" List
Sunnyvale, Calif.-April 14,
2010-NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) announced today that it was
ranked #2 in the "Best Workplaces in Canada" list for 2010. NetApp
was also recognized as the top workplace in Canada in the Respect
category. NetApp now ranks in the top 20 places to work in 9
different regions, including #7 in the United States. This is the
first year that NetApp Canada applied for the "Best Workplaces in
Canada" list. The full list of top workplaces was published April
13 in The Globe and Mail.
"We are honored to be ranked #2 on the 'Best
Workplaces in Canada' list and proud to continue to be recognized
as one of the top places to work around the world," said Jeff
Goldstein, NetApp general manager, Canada. "The innovation we
deliver that helps our customers increase their efficiency and
achieve business breakthroughs is driven by our talented employees.
We believe that maintaining our culture and values not only creates
an environment that makes NetApp a great place to work, but helps
us be a better company for our customers and technology partners to
work with."
This list of "Best Workplaces in Canada" is
compiled by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The
competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the
total score comes from a 58-statement survey completed by a
majority of the employee population, along with their open-ended
comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the
score comes from an in-depth review of the organization's culture,
including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers
a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee
perspective and an overall portrait of the workplace culture.
Together, the two criteria provide crucial data relative to the
five trust-building dimensions of a "Great Place to Work®":
credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. This year's
list received over 200 nominations and approximately 41,000
employees participated in the 2010 "Best Workplaces in Canada"
survey.
On the Trust Index® Dimension Averages
of the employee survey, NetApp Canada's scores averaged well above
the 90th percentile in all areas. NetApp employee survey responses
indicate that employees feel that their opinions are valued and
that they make a difference, giving scores in the 97th percentile.
They also feel that they are treated fairly and that managers do
not play favorites, with scores in the 91st percentile. Employees
in Canada provided 99th-percentile scores that they would like to
work at NetApp for a long time. And, taking everything into
account, employees responded to the statement "I would say this is
a great place to work" with scores in the 100% percentile.
NetApp is committed to being a model company
with a culture that values creativity, teamwork, productivity,
leadership, and innovation. NetApp's egalitarian culture,
competitive salaries, unique benefits, and down-to-earth management
style are valued by its employees and have led to the company's
consistently high ranking on "Best Workplaces" lists in all
qualifying countries.
NetApp's #2 ranking in Canada follows similar
awards recognizing NetApp as a great place to work in several other
locations around the world, including:
- Australia - #2
