Market analysts confirm NetApp’s growth in disk storage market share for EMEA

The Netherlands, October 7, 2009 - NetApp (Nasdaq: NTAP) announced today its latest EMEA position in the open systems networked storage market1. According to IDC's "EMEA Quarterly Disk Storage Systems Tracker, Q2 2009"2, NetApp has a revenue market share of 14.8% in Q2 2009 compared to 11.1% in Q1 2009. From Q1 2009 to Q2 2009, NetApp grew at 38.1% - over ten times the market growth rate. In Q2 2009 NetApp ranks third among the leading storage players tracked by IDC in EMEA and is further closing the gap to number 1.

The results announced today confirm NetApp's growth in the EMEA storage market. Compared to its 2008 share in the open systems storage market, NetApp has gained over 1 point of share in the first half of 2009. With regard to a break-down by country in Q2 2009, NetApp ranks number 1 in Germany with 23.4%, number 2 in France and the UK with 12.8% and. 18.3% revenue market share, respectively. NetApp was able to improve its 2Q2009 open systems networked storage market share within 23 of the 35 EMEA countries/regions IDC tracks and held market share within 3.
