NetApp to be Recognized as a Corporate Partner of the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering in October 2009

SUNNYVALE, Calif.-October 1, 2009- In October, NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) will be recognized as a corporate partner of the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering. NetApp will also provide a keynote address for People 2009, the Saba global user summit.

Sundar Nagarathnam, vice president of NetApp University, will deliver a keynote address at People 2009, Saba's annual user summit. Recently, David Dale, director of Industry Standards at NetApp, was elected to SNIA's Solid-State Storage Initiative (SSSI) governing board. In September, Subhash Sankuratripati, senior security engineer at NetApp, was elected cochair of the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) Technical Committee. The OASIS KMIP TC works to define a single, comprehensive protocol for communication between encryption systems and a broad range of new and legacy enterprise applications, including e-mail, databases, and storage devices. By removing redundant, incompatible key management processes, KMIP will provide better data security while reducing expenditures on multiple products.
