Laura Pickering, NetApp Vice President, Honored at the YWCA of Silicon Valley’s 25th Annual Tribute to Women (TWIN) Awards Program

2009-Laura Pickering, NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) vice president
and environmental responsibility advocate, Office of the CEO, has
been named an honoree by the YWCA of Silicon Valley for their
Tribute to Women (TWIN) Awards program. The program, now in its
25th year, pays tribute to successful women executives for their
outstanding achievements, and it also recognizes the companies that
employ these women. The participants represent a cross-section of
companies in Silicon Valley, including technology, defense,
communications, publishing, construction, and healthcare, among
CEOs of leading Bay Area companies submitted
nominations for the TWIN Awards, which were reviewed by a panel of
former TWIN honorees and prominent industry leaders in a blind
selection process. The panel selected Pickering in part for her
environmental stewardship at NetApp. Under her leadership, NetApp
has dramatically increased recycling, power conservation, and
energy responsibility programs, which decreased carbon dioxide
output by 3,391 tons annually, earned a PG&E rebate of $1.4
million, and diverted millions of pounds of material from local Bay
Area landfills. Pickering and the other Silicon Valley honorees
received awards at the TWIN Awards gala dinner, May 14, 2009, at
the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California.
