Laura Pickering, NetApp Vice President, Honored at the YWCA of Silicon Valley’s 25th Annual Tribute to Women (TWIN) Awards Program

Sunnyvale, Calif.-May 15, 2009-Laura Pickering, NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) vice president and environmental responsibility advocate, Office of the CEO, has been named an honoree by the YWCA of Silicon Valley for their Tribute to Women (TWIN) Awards program. The program, now in its 25th year, pays tribute to successful women executives for their outstanding achievements, and it also recognizes the companies that employ these women. The participants represent a cross-section of companies in Silicon Valley, including technology, defense, communications, publishing, construction, and healthcare, among others.

CEOs of leading Bay Area companies submitted nominations for the TWIN Awards, which were reviewed by a panel of former TWIN honorees and prominent industry leaders in a blind selection process. The panel selected Pickering in part for her environmental stewardship at NetApp. Under her leadership, NetApp has dramatically increased recycling, power conservation, and energy responsibility programs, which decreased carbon dioxide output by 3,391 tons annually, earned a PG&E rebate of $1.4 million, and diverted millions of pounds of material from local Bay Area landfills. Pickering and the other Silicon Valley honorees received awards at the TWIN Awards gala dinner, May 14, 2009, at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, California.
