NetApp Australia Ranked #2 on 2009 List of Best Companies by Great Place to Work Institute

Second consecutive year as one of the best companies in Australia
Follows NetApp U.S. winning first position in FORTUNE magazine’s 2009 “Best Companies to Work For”

Sunnyvale, Calif.-May 8, 2009-NetApp today announced it took second place in the 2009 Best Companies list compiled by the Great Place to Work® Institute Australia and published in BRW Magazine.

This is the second consecutive year that NetApp Australia achieved a top-two ranking on the Best Companies list. An egalitarian culture, open communication, salary, unique benefits, and down-to-earth management style are the factors that earned the company the number-two spot for 2009.

Peter O'Connor, managing director for NetApp Australia and New Zealand, said, "We are very excited and honored to be in the top-two Best Companies in Australia. Our exceptional employees are the heart of the company and the strength of our culture, which is reflected in NetApp offices across Australia and all over the world.

"We live by the values of teamwork, productivity, leadership, and innovation, which help us create bigger customer breakthroughs and retain top talent.

"I am very proud of this accomplishment and thank all of our employees for their continued commitment to achieving great results and providing customers with an outstanding experience."

To pick the list of Best Companies, the Great Place to Work Institute works with companies to complete an employee survey and a culture audit.

Companies are selected as a Best Company primarily on the basis of their employees' responses to the Great Place to Work Trust Index©, a proprietary employee survey developed by the Great Place to Work Institute. Further information used for the selection process is provided by completion of the Great Place to Work Culture Audit©, a two-part management questionnaire also developed by the Great Place to Work Institute.

This year, BRW Magazine published the list of Best Companies from the Great Place to Work Institute's annual survey, available in the April 30 edition of BRW.

Today's announcement follows similar awards for NetApp in several other locations around the world, including:

 • United States-First place in FORTUNE magazine's 2009 "Best Companies to Work For"
 • Germany-Ninth place in the "Best Workplaces in Germany" by the Great Place to Work Institute Germany
 • India-Fourteenth place in the "Best Employers in India" study by Hewitt Associates
 • France-Fourteenth place in the "Best Workplaces France" by the Great Place to Work Institute France
