NetApp Named A Best Place to Work in Research Triangle Park for Fifth Consecutive Year

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina - September 29, 2008 - For the fifth year in a row, NetApp, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTAP) has earned top workplace honors from Triangle Business Journal, ranking in the number two spot on the "Best Places to Work" in Research Triangle Park (RTP) list for 2008. NetApp was recognized for this honor in the large company category, which includes companies with 150 employees or more. NetApp employees based in RTP responded to a confidential survey from the publication and once again gave the company high marks for its team-oriented work environment, exceptional people practices, strong executive leadership, and effective managerial relationships.

NetApp has been in the RTP area since 1999. In 2005, the company expanded operations with the opening of the NetApp® RTP technology center. The space is roughly 520,000 square feet and is capable of accommodating more than 2,000 employees. The company currently employs 918 full and part-time people in the region and operates a 24x7 global service and support center in addition to a state-of-the-art data center with a capacity of multiple petabytes. In September 2007, NetApp began construction of a new energy-efficient engineering lab facility at the site. The new facility was completed in August 2008 and is utilized as a global engineering resource for NetApp engineering centers worldwide, and will include furthering research and development initiatives to create more energy conscious data centers.

"We are excited that our employees once again believe we are a 'Best Place to Work' in RTP," said Joanna Karwowska, vice president of Software Engineering at NetApp. "This positive feedback tells us that we are able to strike a balance between driving for excellence, innovation, and quality while also developing and encouraging a motivated workforce that is crucial to the present and future success of our customers and partners."
