NetApp Streamlines Compliance and Increases Security with Oracle® Identity Management

Redwood Shores, Calif. - June 27, 2007 -- Oracle today announced that Network Appliance (NASDAQ: NTAP) has deployed Oracle® Identity Management as the foundation of Netapp's new Identity Management infrastructure. NetApp selected Oracle Identity Manager, a component of Oracle Identity Management, to help automate account provisioning, satisfy audit and compliance mandates, and meet the requirements of its expanding business and employee population while improving its overall security needs.

"With ongoing rapid growth in the volume and breadth of NetApp's business, we needed a scalable identity infrastructure to support our growing and more complex workforce," said John Donovan, senior IT manager at NetApp. "Our first phase implementation, focusing on internal workforce, took approximately six months. This implementation provides the foundation for managing digital identities, accounts, and entitlements for employees, contractors, and vendors across key internal systems. Through its support of our existing applications and scalability requirements, Oracle Identity Manager has helped us centralize and automate processes for assigning resources to new employees for a superior and secure user experience."

Better security, Better information
Serving as a key component of its comprehensive information security program, Oracle Identity Manager helps NetApp enforce tighter automated access and management controls around its sensitive data and applications. The software also enables NetApp to streamline the new hire process by equipping new employees with the tools they need to become fully productive as soon as possible. Additionally, using Oracle Identity Manager, NetApp can provide its more than 5,000 employees with appropriate access and help to make sure that when personnel leave the company that access is removed quickly. The enhanced controls and security allow NetApp to track identity information that can be used to satisfy security and audit needs.
