Stellent Expands Functionality for Imaging and Business Process Management Product Suite

Eden Prairie, MN - August 2, 2005 - Stellent, Inc. (Nasdaq: STEL), a global provider of content management solutions, announced today expanded functionality for the Stellent® Imaging and Business Process Management (BPM) product suite which increases the system's manageability and performance, and enhances information lifecycle management and usability.

"Stellent Imaging/BPM provides a solid foundation for driving business process efficiencies and fully leveraging investments in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems," said Dan Ryan, executive vice president of marketing and business development for Stellent. "The solution's expanded functionality provides customers with an even more powerful and easy means of delivering critical business content where and when it is needed, as well as integrating transactional documents and information into common business processes and third-party applications."

Increasing Performance and Usability of Stellent Imaging/BPM Functionality
Stellent has improved the overall usability and performance of its imaging solution by releasing a new Web client called Stellent Imaging/BPM Web Express. The thin client is intended to allow a high volume of users through multiple browser platforms to quickly search and retrieve content.

Usability has also been further increased by adding full Microsoft .Net support through the Imaging/BPM software development kit (SDK), custom tools and BPM forms interface, allowing customers and service providers to more fully leverage the product suite through custom integrations.

Stellent Imaging/BPM has further enhanced its manageability with additional storage options, including support for Network Appliance's Snaplock Storage device and Ultra Density Optical (UDO) mixed and native optical storage devices. Stellent also enhanced its built-in information lifecycle management component, allowing for easier management and configuration, and more efficient movement of data between storage devices and locations.

"NetApp is pleased to work with Stellent to offer customers simplified content and data management solutions," said Patrick Rogers, vice president of products and partners at Network Appliance. "The combination of NetApp SnapLock software with Stellent Imaging/BPM-based solutions helps customers simplify data retention and regulatory compliance, leading to better data protection and availability by replacing optical storage with a disk-based alternative."

Stellent Imaging/BPM also includes the following new features and functionality:

  • Native displays of PDF and Microsoft Office documents-result in faster download times and higher-quality rendering.
  • Advanced document properties in the Web client-including check-in, check-out, revision history, associations and document annotations for documents and package attachments.
  • Paging enhancements-enable the universal viewer to display the page number and document description on tabs within the viewer interface.
  • Existing process field alterations-allow process designers to alter the characteristics of package fields dynamically, even if they are already in use.
  • Added support for the latest Brooktrout fax board (BT1034)-allows for new fax technology to be used for Stellent Imaging/BPM's inbound and outbound faxing capabilities.
  • CIndex data moved into the primary database-all critical system information is now stored in a standard database format in the primary database, allowing for easier management and system backups.

Supporting Leading ERP Systems
The Stellent ERP Integration Suite-which provides simple, hassle-free movement between ERP systems and Stellent Imaging and Business Process Management-now supports the latest versions of leading ERP systems, including Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains 8.0 and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.11. Stellent announced support for PeopleSoft Enterprise Financials and Travel & Expense 8.8 and SAP R/3 versions 4.5B to 4.7 earlier this year.

"The Stellent ERP Integration Suite has enabled us to process a growing number of invoices without increasing staff at those same percentages," said Mark Federle, chief information officer for The Weitz Co. "Stellent's ongoing commitment to providing integrations with the most recent version of our JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ensures we will continue to derive further efficiencies and return-on-investment from our ERP implementation."
