Fujitsu Makes FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite Solution Available in North America
Sunnyvale, Calif. - May 11, 2004 --
Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation today made available the
FlexFrame™ for mySAP® Business Suite solution, the first
realization of an IT infrastructure with SAP Adaptive Computing
capabilities. The FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite solution
replaces yesterday's complex environment of multiple dedicated
servers with a modular concept that incorporates the latest
business-critical computing technologies like Fujitsu
PRIMERGY® servers. This modular approach allows virtualization
of the Linux Operating System, application services and storage,
consolidating all application and database services on a single,
easily managed platform.
"FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite simplifies the IT
infrastructure and offers on-demand provisioning and other
autonomic features to significantly reduce TCO by 30 percent or
greater," said Richard McCormack, vice president of product and
solutions marketing for Fujitsu Computer Systems. "It is a perfect
example of our commitment to deliver pre-tested solutions that are
easily deployable and manageable so our customers can focus on
their business without worrying about their IT
infrastructure."
The FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite solution is the first
complete realization of server virtualization and dynamic component
provisioning for business applications. The solution provides
dynamic allocation of hardware resources to meet specific software
requirements on demand, scaling with little or no downtime and
integrated high availability that requires no costly clustering of
servers. With minimal manual intervention, adjustments to computing
demand can be made to maintain maximum operational efficiency with
near zero downtime. As a result, customers can achieve optimum
usage of their IT infrastructure investment.
The FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite solution is a proven
foundation on which enterprise customers can confidently deploy the
latest mySAP solutions, facilitating easy and flexible SAP system
management for superior operational efficiency. The solution was
designed in close collaboration with SAP AG and Network
Appliance.
"FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite is a powerful complement to our
unified storage products," said Patrick Rogers, vice president of
marketing at Network Appliance. "Together, our joint solutions
greatly simplify SAP data management and archiving."
The Fujitsu Group recently announced its participation in the
Enterprise Grid Alliance, a consortium created to develop
enterprise utility computing solutions. Fujitsu has been investing
considerable resources into advanced grid technology and the
FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite solution is an example of an
early incarnation of grid technology available today.
Fujitsu and Network Appliance will conduct live demonstrations of
the FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite solution at the
SAPPHIRE® '04 conference in New Orleans (May 11-13, 2004) at
booth #309. For more information on the FlexFrame for mySAP
