Sunnyvale, CA – April 9, 2008—NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP), which is a leading provider and enabler for high-performance computing (HPC) environments, will take part in a panel discussion at next week’s HPC User Forum. The panel, which will occur on Tuesday, April 15, from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. Eastern Time, will examine key HPC storage trends facing the industry. The HPC User Forum will be held at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside, April 14 through 16, in Norfolk, Virginia.
In addition to the panel discussion, NetApp will participate in a vendor meeting on the newly evolving pNFS storage protocol, which supports high-throughput and parallelized data access. NetApp will also provide a brief update on NetApp® HPC storage solutions during the vendor presentation session on Monday, April 14, and is the lunch sponsor of the HPC User Forum on April 15.
This year’s HPC User Forum agenda will include a mix of individual user presentations and technical updates from vendors. It will also feature panels for customers and vendors to discuss future requirements for CFD/structures, storage, operating systems, and interconnects.
The HPC User Forum is an initiative developed by IDC to promote the interests of HPC users in industry, government, and academia and is an extension of IDC's long-standing commitment to the global HPC community.
