NetApp's Data ONTAP SMI-S Agent

The NetApp Data ONTAP® SMI-S Agent installation portal page will guide you through the process of installing the NetApp Data ONTAP SMI-S Agent.

If you are a developer (either partner or customer), please complete the following steps:
  • If you are not currently a member of NetApp Advantage Developer Program, you must register prior to initiating the SMI-S Agent download. As a member, you will receive NOW credentials that allow you to download the SMI-S Agent. You can find the Partner Program Application Form at the following Web site:
    http://www.netapp.com/us/forms/smi-s-partner-program-app.html.
  • Download the Data ONTAP SMI-S Agent installation file. You can find the installation file at the following Web site:
    http://now.netapp.com/NOW/cgi-bin/manageontap.

If you are a customer (end user of a storage management application that uses the SMI-S Agent), please complete the following steps:

  • Red Hat® Enterprise Linux ES, version 3 or 4 (32-bit or 64-bit, update 3 or later)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS, version 3 or 4 (32-bit or 64-bit, update 3 or later)
  • SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server, version 10 (32-bit and 64-bit, SP 2 or later)

Note: for installation on a Linux-based host, you need to use the uncompress command or the Linux-based host installation will fail.

Disk space 1GB (minimum)
4 GB (recommended)
CPU 2.0 MHz processor speed (minimum)
Temporary disk space for installation 50 MB

Note: turning on full debug logging requires additional disk space of up to 8 GB, depending upon the log rotation settings.
