Background

Shravan Gaonkar is a researcher in the Advanced Technology Group at NetApp. His research interests include file and storage systems, performance and modeling, and fault tolerance. He joined NetApp after completing his Ph.D. from the department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign under the supervision of Prof. William H. Sanders. His dissertation is titled “Exploring Design Configurations of System Models: From Simultaneous Simulation to Search Heuristics” He also received a Master of Science degree from the department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Surathkal, India.
