In late 2006, Tech OnTap recruited a select group of highly opinionated members to help keep Tech OnTap relevant and useful for storage end users. The board meets monthly to provide feedback on article topics, guest authors, and special promotions.

Tony has about 10 years of IT experience, including 4 years with storage. He assists in managing 20 NetApp storage systems and other storage platforms (Boo!!!! Hiss!!!) with more than 120TB of capacity. In his spare time, Tony thinks about climbing mountains and running marathons; but that just tires him out. Instead, he spends as much time as he can with his wife and 4-year-old son.

Jess Carruthers, Project Manager, William Beaumont Hospitals

For the past nine years Jess has managed NetApp and competing storage systems supporting Oracle ERP, financial, clinical, document, and PACS Imaging environments. In 2005 as a beta site for Data ONTAP 7G, Jess and his team consolidated 28TB of Oracle and CIFS storage across 9 NetApp systems to a FAS960c and a NearStore system running SnapVault. Utilization jumped from 50% to 76%. The team is currently expanding its environment to include three FAS clusters, three NearStore systems and a FAS3070 at a remote DR site.
