This year’s black-tie gala event will be held on Thursday 25 April 2013 at The Lindley Hall, Royal Horticultural Halls, London.
It was the monarch King Edward VII who had mooted the idea of the Royal Horticultural
Society having a purpose-built exhibition hall for its shows. On 22 July 1904, together
with the Society's patron Queen Alexandra, he officially declared the venue open.
The Lindley Hall was designed by Edwin J Stebbs, and his focus on achieving as much
natural light as possible remains a key part of the character of the building more
than 100 years later. The space, light and elegance inherent in its Edwardian design
create a breath-taking effect for organisers and visitors alike.
