NetApp Shave Heads to Raise Over £15,000 for Children Living with Cancer
LONDON, UK. - May, 05, 2011
-NetApp, the data storage and management specialist has
completed a sponsored head shave in support of two cancer charities
- The St. Baldrick's Foundation and CLIC Sargent, the UK's leading
cancer charity for children and young people.
Rather than just writing a check or
volunteering to shave at an existing St. Baldrick's event, four
years ago NetApp pledged to make a difference in the lives of
children affected with cancer. Globally the company has adopted St.
Baldrick's into the fold of the true NetApp culture which includes
customers, employees, partners, families, friends and giving back
to those in need.
Dave Allen, Managing Director NetApp UK and
Ireland says, "As a global company we've worked with St. Baldrick's
for a number of years, but this is the first time the NetApp UK
team has risen to the challenge to contribute to children and
families in need. We are proud to have participated in the event
and of what we have achieved as a team. We won't hesitate to
participate next year."
Twenty six brave employees from the UK office
took part in the head shave. The event has raised more than
£15,000 to date, which will be used to fund CLIC Sargent's
services across the UK.
The NetApp UK team has risen to the challenge
to contribute to children and families in need and pledged to
participate on a larger scale in 2012.
