NetApp DataMotion for Volumes provides transparent movement of storage volumes with or without LUNs, from one aggregate to another, to facilitate nondisruptive operations, provide dynamic load balancing of resources, optimize application performance according to media type, and enable nondisruptive updates and upgrades.

With NetApp DataMotion for Volumes, you can manage your logical resources more effectively by rebalancing load and performance for specific datasets. Avoid hot spots, efficiently manage capacity, and adjust service levels by dynamically assigning each volume nondisruptively to the appropriate disk pool.
